Shireen is half-Irish half-Mauritian and grew up in Saudi Arabia. She has 12 years of experience creating innovative theatre as both a playwright and collaborative theatre-maker. She’s worked in London and internationally, creating work for audiences of all ages. She was part of a cross-cultural collaboration between Soho Theatre in London and CloudBreak theatre company in KL. Shireen has been Associate Artist at both Ovalhouse, London and Nottle Theatre, South Korea. She was playwright-on-attachment at the Royal Court Theatre (2010). Her plays include: The Rise & Fall (Somerset House, 2017), Soon Until Forever (Theatre503, 2013), Same Same (fanSHEN & Ovalhouse 2011), Nameless (Arnolfini Theatre, 2010). Shireen co-authored Why Is The Sky Blue? (Southwark Playhouse, 2018) which was been nominated for two Off West End Awards.
